Max Spielmann, one of the biggest chains of digital photo printing outlets in the country, has ventured into the field of in-store on demand calendar production. The chain that was founded by Wirral based Graham family in the late 1950’s has taken delivery of 450 to quality binding kits from the leader in the field of binding-Renz. Renz UK has completed the order and has claimed it to be one of the biggest orders of multiple machines handled by it till date.

The flamboyant Ivan Sestan, who works as the Innovation Director at Max Spielmann, is obviously quite satisfied with the order and divulged further details about the order and about how this expansion of business was planned in the first place and then executed flawlessly. ‘For the past five years, we have printed calendars at our central production site but there are big peaks in October, November and December. We thought we could improve service to our customers by distributing the production to the point of sale’, a visibly happy Ivan Sestan said.

When asked about the company’s rapport with Renz he said, ‘We explored the best way this could be achieved. We found the calendar binding line from Renz was quick and easy to install, simple to use and assured a high-quality product. Reliability was critical as well and we liked the fact that there is good on-going support.’ Divulging the details of the deal he said, ‘Each binding kit consists of a Renz SRW 360 table-top wire binder, a Renz TC20 calendar thumb cut punch, 100 wires and 100 hangers.’

Upon being asked about the quality of the Renz calendar binding kits he claimed that the company was very happy with the results and said, ‘we trialled it for four months and were very pleased with the results.’ He further added, ‘We chose to roll the same lines out throughout the stores because we didn’t want to have to support and train multiple solutions and wanted product consistency for all our customers. The last lines have just gone in and are ready for this festive season’s busy period.’

Max Spielmann believes in giving best possible service to its customers and hence makes use of top-of-the-line Epson desktop printers that ensure one-hour delivery time. This is done with the help of a production process that is well supported by their online ordering service. When asked about the best turnarounds being offered by Max Spielmann, Mr Sestan said, ‘We believe this will help us grow sales because we can provide a more responsive and faster turnaround service. We are adding additional opportunities such as photo books, documents, CVs and orders of service.’
